Citrus Controls software is protected by a
license key which is unique for your machine's hardware adapter, and other
information which uniquely identifies your computer. Permanent licenses
purchased by customers never expire and do not limit the product in any way.
If your computer hardware changes (for example, after maintenance), and your
license fails to validate, you can generate a supplemental license in the
Customer area.
Trial licenses and some special purpose issues
are time limited and may in addition have a reduced number of nodes which
any Ring can support or other restrictions. Trial licenses are not limited
to a specific machine. A Ring consisting of a mixture of Trial-licensed
nodes and nodes with permanent licenses will be limited to the lowest common
denominator -- for example, if any node license has limitations, these
become the limitations for the entire Ring.
You will generate a license error in the
following situations. License errors are reported by the event logger if
they are detected by MMService, and reported directly on the screen if you
are using one of the utilities.
| Invalid License |
The license itself is invalid. The key information
contained in the registry doesn't represent a valid license. Please
contact Citrus Controls directly for a new
license to be issued. |
| License violation |
The license is valid, but either the time limit or
some other limit is inconsistent with the terms of the license. This is
normally the case if you run out of time on an expired license. Contact
Citrus Controls or purchase a license. If
you have recently replaced some hardware on your machine, the license
may now not be validated -- use the
Customer area to obtain a
replacement license or contact Citrus Controls for more help. |
| No license for component |
You are attempting to use an optional component which
you license doesn't validate you for. Currently, the only available
option is the hardware bridge optional software. You must
purchase an additional license from Citrus
Controls to activate the optional product. |
| License subverted |
Various software checks indicate that the code has
been modified to subvert the license. Please contact
Citrus Controls to purchase a valid license.

A license limitation has been exceeded. This should
